I learned from the article that Geography doesn’t just mean land. It means everything that is going on in that space like, governments, religious organizations and trade partnerships. Geography can be involving maps or even different types of ecosystems. The article talked about ancient geography, and how the term actually comes from the greek prefix geo which means earth. Some of the first maps made were of ancient Greece. I think it would be cool to compare the very first maps of Greece vs the final satellite maps of Greece and see the similarities and differences. Geography asks and answers questions like how certain places got to be formed how they are and how did a certain species of animal get to that region. People can use geography to track down many different things from, economic forces to the different history and location of cities and countries. One of the cool things I read that they could use geography for is to find and track down disease outbreaks. With this information it makes it easier to find where it is spreading and to stop it, or even prevent it from spreading all together. Another interesting thing they can use geography for is to see how humans have altered the environment of the earth to fully understand the impact of human activities. Overall geography, no matter when you look at it, can tell a story. Whether or not that story is good or bad it will provide facts and evidence no matter what you outlook is. Geography is the earth’s own biography and it will continue to write until the very end.
